About us
A community group of like-minded volunteers
My Green Valley carries out frequent litter picks in the Swansea and Amman Valleys. Based in Pontardawe since 2019, we arrange group litter picks as well as encouraging individuals to help keep our environment clean and beautiful for everyone to enjoy.
Our aims are to:
- Reduce litter
- Maintain green spaces
- Promote recycling and environmental projects
- Educate members of the community

Why it matters
It’s not only about the litter
Protects wildlife
Litter, especially broken glass and sharp objects, injures animals. Removing it safeguards habitats and preserves biodiversity.
Cleaner rivers
Litter often ends up in rivers and streams, polluting waterways and harming aquatic life. Picking it up stops that at source.
Safer, prouder places
A clean environment is safer for children and pets, and fosters a real sense of pride and community.
